a looming & bittersweet countdown

My feelings are very mixed presently. The past month has held a scattering of goodbyes; I've never really been a fan of these, and find them particularly more difficult when I really don't know when or if I'll actually see the particular individual again. I'll be on a Toronto-bound in just under 3 days. I'm really going to miss the UK and the people I've connected with here. I'm also quite excited to reconnect with many lovely people back home. As I said, a mix.

The past few weeks have been busy. I've been quite happy about limited computer use. I also haven't been pushing myself to be journalling, and I am less pleased with that.

My belongings presently sit surrounding me in a room in my friends flat, spilling out of my suitcase, seeming almost impossible to prepare for travel. To be fair, I've not really tried to pack this morning. and I need to run errands this afternoon. I should be able to get it ready by this evening though, and I do still have time to rearrange things before Thursday morning.

Uhm. I kinda need to post a lot of pictures on here.... bike trip, northern ireland, euro-trip, the highlands this past weekend, whatever else I've mentioned and not followed up on.... To be honest, they might not get posted until I'm home.

But until then, enjoy this one, because it is most recent and I'm quite proud of it:
why, yes, that is a London 2012 Olympic torch! No, I did not run with it, but I had the opportunity to hold it... The story behind this is best told in person.
and here's some highland cattle with barrack ruins in the background

I was going to add a few more, but the computer is not cooperating, and the sun just came out, and I need to accomplish some things before it starts to rain again.

peace.
